A hacker by the name of Robert Moore has just been jailed for two years in the U.S for stealing VoIP services in a router. He was discovered after he had breached security at 15 separate telcos with an unbelievable ease. His main target in this global hacking exercise was telcos and corporations. He wanted to steal VoIP services and then sell them using a third party.

Recently, BT was hired by Birmingham Teaching Primary Care Trust to provide a hosted VoIP phone service over the NHS's N3 broadband network. The VoIP network was put in place by BT as part of the £12.4bn NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT). The upgrade was actually done in July so as to make VoIP calls possible.
