Hey jason,
I've been busy this week putting together some new material
for you, some videos actually, I'll get them to you in the
next couple of weeks.
Firstly, I thought I'd share this little tip with you...
it's a pretty easy way to increase the search engine
ranking of any site you like, and it's very set and forget
kinda stuff.
I feel a bit silly for not mentioning this in the last
few emails where we talked about getting backlinks
but then again I think this one's important enough
to include in here on it's own.
You know by now (I hope) that getting backlinks helps
your search engine rankings right?
And you have probably heard of buying text links on other
people's sites...
Basically you pay someone a certain fee and they put
up a link on their site to your site, most importantly
with the anchor text of your main keyword.
The strategy is to get as many links coming back to your
site from your main keyword to improve your rankings on
that term.
You might have heard the story of how a community of
college kids exploited this aspect of the Google algorithm
by placing the word "Miserable Failure" on their websites
as a link to president George Bush's home page.
Consequently after some time, you could type the word
miserable failure into Google and up pops George Bush's
URL at position number 1 :)
How you can use this to YOUR advantage is to acquire as
many incoming links to your site with the anchor text
of your main keyword.
One great place to buy links like this is from Digital
Point Forums. They have a section called link sales
where people buy, sell and trade links to and from
their websites.
Here's the link to go there (of course it's fr'ee to
join here)
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58
Basically the strategy is to browse around and pick
up as many links as you can with the highest possible
PageRank (Google's measure of the importance
of a web page) and have them link back to you with
the anchor text being a keyword you most want to rank for.
Keep in mind you want links from sites that are as
high quality as possible and as closely related to
your site as possible. Don't pick up links from crappy
sites or sites that are completely unrelated as they
will be of no value and may actually result in counter
productive search engine reactions.
A friend of mine used this technique alone to jump to
the top of the SE rankings for a very competitive keyword
(he purchased an ongoing PR7 link) so it's powerful stuff
if of course you actually go and DO it.
Anyway, that link again is
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58
And you can join digital point forum for free then
start picking up links for as little as a few dollars each
up to about $40 per month for a PR7... pretty good
deal I say! (And no, there's no money for me in telling
you about this :( )
Keep taking action and I'll see you again soon.
All the best,
Andrew Hansen
