The House last week passed a four-year extension. The two chambers must come to a consensus and President George W. Bush must sign off on the bill before the tax moratorium can be extended. The Globe and Mail (Toronto) (10/26) Telefonica takes charge of Telecom Italia Spain's Telefonica SA has completed its $5.8 billion takeover of Telecom Italia. The company and four other investors now control 23.6% of the Italian provider. Two Telecom Italia board members announced their resignations Thursday after the acquisition was completed.
