Position: FSBO Marketing Agent
         
This email is the Second of 14 emails you will receive as basic training designed to educate our FSBO Marketing Agents. Please keep in mind that removing yourself from the email distribution list also removes you from the program. All affiliates need to have email permissions active in order to participate in the HomeownerMEDIA program.
        
Now that you have started promoting your FSBO Marketing Agent business the next step is understanding how to get customers. As a Real Estate professional who specializes in For Sale By Owner ("FSBO") properties your job is to find homeowners and provide them with a FREE listing on the HomeownerMEDIA network.
          
At HomeownerMEDIA we do not expect our FSBO Marketing Agents to actually sell programs and FSBO packages. The program was designed with simplicity in mind and does not require a sales process. As a FSBO Agent you basically get homeowners selling their homes by owner to create a free account using your website link. You send the homeowners to www.hmagent.com/USERNAME as a Marketing Agent or if you are a CREC you send them to www.hmcrec.com/USERNAME. When you send them to your website, do not forget to tell them to create a free listing. FREE LISTINGS CONVERT TO SALES WITH LITTLE SALES WORK!
           
Once a homeowner creates a free seller account they will be provided a basic sellers package. This package includes a listing on our main website and provides them with basic sales materials. The information they provided in the FREE SIGNUP PROCESS is used to help us upgrade this homeowner to a premium package. They will receive 21 emails in a 30 day period letting them know why they need to upgrade. Currently about 23% of all FREE ACCOUNTS upgrade to a premium package. In addition to our email series the local Certified Real Estate Consultant will call this client as well. They will also help you close business and earn money with the marketing of free accounts. Why not? Our Certified Real Estate Consultants (CRECs) make money when you earn money.
         
Step 1: Write a Marketing Email
Write a good short sales email for homeowners from competitive websites. Go browsing through online websites like craigslist, oodle, google base, etc and start emailing some of the 1 million + homeowners selling their homes by owner. Tell them that HomeownerMEDIA is a special FSBO marketing service and they can list their home on our network FREE OF CHARGE.
      
Step 2: Brush Up On Your Telephone Script
Write a phone pitch that you can use over and over again. Some of the online and offline newspapers only list phone numbers. You may need to call these homeowners and get them to visit your website link.
         
Step 3: Get a Domain Name
If you are doing business by phone it is important that you shorten your domain name from www.hmagent.com/USERNAME to www.mydomainname.com. You can get your own domain name at www.godaddy.com which offers free forwarding and email services. Do a search for a domain name that you like and one that relates to our business. The average cost is about $9.00 for the entire year and that includes free forwarding and email services. DO NOT ORDER HOSTING OR ANY PREMIUM SERVICES SINCE HOMEOWNERMEDIA HOSTS YOUR WEBSITE FOR FREE. Once you have your own domain name, you will have an easier time telling it to homeowners you speak to by phone.
          
Step 4: Setup a Professional office
It is very important that you have a personal office number, fax number and email account for this business. As a Real Estate professional you need to relay a professional appearance. No one will ever see your office or home, but will always recognize email, phone and over-all personality. Do not use MSN, AOL or any other free email account like yahoo in our business. Try to get a personalized phone number with business voicemail and a professional answering message.

Step 5: Call your local Certified Real Estate Consultant
Look in your backoffice for the local CREC in your area. Your CREC has a lot to gain from your activity in our program. They can become a great friend in the HomeownerMEDIA business and can provide you with many resources. Since CRECs own the land you reside in when it comes to HomeownerMEDIA business, they have a vested interest in helping you succeed.
          
Step 6: Build a Marketing Plan
Do not just wing it! Write everything down and plan your day. The hardest thing to do is get started. Once you have started your Real Estate career you will then have data and numbers needed to create a successful marketing plan. Sit down and analyze your closing ratio, earnings ratio, accounts ratios and so on... For additional reference please attend a live Teleconference Call which relates to Marketing. You will see a detailed outline of our marketing schedule during the next step.
          
Step 7: Attend Our Live Training Calls
It is important that you attend as many Live Training Calls as you can. Our Live calls provide you with marketing advice and also educate you on HomeownerMEDIA products and services.
