The number of homes that have the ability to receive video over fiber has increased 36% in the last six months to more than 8 million. The company has assigned a manager to 800 customers apiece, with each of the employees given a BlackBerry and a six-day, 12-hour work schedule to resolve problems and report back to subscribers. The Tampa Tribune (Fla.) (4/8) AT&T names Verisign's Donovan as CTO John Donovan, an executive vice president at Verisign, has joined AT&T as its new chief technology officer. He will oversee the company's global technological strategy and map out its next-generation products and ideas, the company said.
